Yesterday

1. Picked up boards at 84 Lumber to finish our garden fence on Thursday. Thank you tax refund!

2. Spent close to 6 hours planting perennials on the sunny side of the yard. This will be our future bird/bee/butterfly garden. We still need some BIG shrubs to plant along the fence and block out the neighbors.

3. Braden planted a bald cypress, willow oak, weeping red bud, and a paw paw in the yard. It will take a few years, but eventually the paw paw will give us tasty fruit.

4. I tried to take down the flagpole in our yard. It's a huge eyesore. It used to fly the previous owner's rebel flag. When we bought the house, Braden suggested that we fly a pirate flag from it. I considered putting a purple martin house above it. Both ideas were nixed. I worked on digging it up for about an hour, but my back started to give before the flagpole did, so I called it quits.

5. I got burnt and a little sun poisoned.
